Park Stories – The Ground Rules

Occasionally someone calls me ‘out of the blue.’  They may have a question about resident mobile home park ownership, or they may be in a park with a problem.

Although I am always willing to talk with them, sometimes I can help and sometimes I can’t.

But often the situation is interesting and there are often lessons to be learned for folks who reside in other mobile home parks, and who are interested in resident park ownership issues.

So I write about them.

However, there are some basic Ground Rules to these stories.

First, I typically don’t have all the information and what information I have is probably one-sided.  However, I have been working with resident owned mobile home parks for a long time, so I can often fill in the gaps.

Second, although everything I write is true to the best of my knowledge, I can’t really give specifics like the names of the park, the individuals involved, or details about the other players.  This is because much of this stuff is confidential and, since I am trying to be as accurate and open as I can, ‘the names are changed to protect the innocent.’

Third, 99% of the time the residents in these parks are trying to do the “right thing”.  It’s just that life circumstances have caused their world to turn to crap and they are seeking any information (or anybody) that can help resolve their issues.

These then, as they say, are their stories.
